Talking to Jesus

Do you talk to Jesus? Where is your place to spend time with Him?

Nature is my spot where I feel His presence so fully and completely.

Sometimes I sit quietly and listen to Him speak to me through a brilliant pink sunset.

Sometimes I walk with Him and pour out all that overwhelms me and weighs so heavy on my soul.

Sometimes I talk to Him out loud, sometimes through tears.

Sometimes I just say thank you for all the beauty and good things in my life–even if it’s hard to find something lovely at the moment.

What about you? Do you hear Him speak to you audibly?

Do you experience Him in nature, at church, in the kitchen with your coffee before everyone else is up, on your drive to work, in the carpool pick up line?

I’d love to know the way He speaks to you and where you experience Him. It is fascinating the way we are each created to experience Him so differently.

  1. I journal with God. Not just my words to Him – but His words back to me that He speaks to my heart as well. I learned to do this in my early 20s. I have journals going back to around 2001. During some seasons of life I have done this more or less. In the last few years I have realized how important this is for me in my relationship with Jesus – it is how and where He meets me.

    1. I love this – recording His words back to you. What a blessing to be able to look back over the different seasons of life and remind yourself of His words and love and hand in your life. Thank you for sharing this, great idea!

      1. It IS amazing to look back over years! God prompted me do this about 4 years ago – to go back to my very first journal time and read all the way to the present (well, 4-years ago present). What a journey through time that was! To see His words to me over that long – themes that were repeated, the ways He met me in the hard seasons, the changes He did in me over years…Even realizing and accepting His call to me to write came out of that journey back through time.
