Look for Him

Do you feel it?

It’s a deep longing. An ancient ache, a supernatural discernment.

It is fierce and untamed. You can’t name it. But your spirit knows…

Something calling, singing, and leading you out into an open space–literally at times.

You sense it dancing through your thoughts, slipping around your heart, and calling out in languages known only to your spirit.

All you know is that you need to go– to find it, to be in it.

Soaked, submerged, covered in heavenly breath, timeless wisdom, peace that passes human understanding.

Creation knows Him. Nature sings and worships Him constantly without worry, fear, or trying to do it right. So much joy!

Forest trees bend and sway in ancient dances. Their branches always reaching up to their source of light and life.

Oceans crash and retreat in powerful displays that catch the cries of human hearts and pull the pain out and away.

Gentle mountain meadows thrum with life–birdsong, insects, and bubbling streams carrying healing, peace, and delight in their rhythms.

Do you feel it? The yearning for healing, refreshing, release?

Look for Him. Look for the Source of life.

Allow His whispers to lead You to Him.

You’ll hear Him in the wind that gently soothes your face, your tears, and carries your shouts, laughter, and silence up, up, up to the Throne Room.

Laughing streams will delight you, mountain air will refresh you, crashing waves will heal you, and the bench in the park under the trees will bring you rest as you find the One who’s been calling you. The One who knows you by name and sings heavenly songs over you is waiting for you. Breathe Him in and be at peace. Divine connection.

Isaiah 30:21 Prayer

Father,

I pray for the one who is wrestling with uncertainty. They are at a crossroads right now and have choices to make. Voices of friends and family are coming at them from all sides. Noise, chatter, and strong opinions are overwhelming, and they can’t hear themselves think. They want so much to do the right thing, to follow You, and please You.

I pray that You will silence the noise and bring them out into a spacious place where they can rest their mind in stillness and peace. Give them a safe place to truly hear Your voice. You have guided them in the past, and You will do it again. Please speak to them in the unique way that You created them to hear Your voice. May they encounter You in intimate and startling ways as You reveal their next steps and show them how to proceed. Remind them that You are the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end. You see their entire journey laid out before You. You know the way.

I pray this beloved one will trust You, will believe that they hear You calling them forward, and will respond with belief that You are for them. Thank you for filling them with confidence and purpose. Thank you for guiding them along the life-road You created for them.

In Your beautiful name, Jesus,

Amen

Jars of Clay

Photo by Vitaly Gariev on Pexels.com

The Potter is at His wheel. All around His workroom, heavenly beings wait in expectation of the Masterpiece. Some sing in Holy languages that interweave with His words of prophesy, purpose, and love. Their songs infuse the clay with unique gifts, peace, and immense value. An impartation of Himself. Holy. Supernatural. Mystery.

His workroom is sacred. Nothing enters without His permission. Each lump of clay is precious. The Potter knows the exact purpose, place, and circumstance for each vessel He creates, and not a thing is left out, forgotten, or rushed. The Triune Potter is intentional, specific, and perfect. Every jar created reflects the time, attention, and deep love He holds for it. His vision for each jar comes to life under His masterful hands, as the scars He knew He would bear for His creation brush up against me and you.

The roughness of His scars creates slight imperfections in the clay, which are intentional and beautiful to the Potter. He permits cracks and crevices, nooks and crannies that to human eyes are faults and defects. Not to Him. These cracks and broken spots allow others to get a glimpse of Him through us. We are permeated with Him; His breath, His love, and His peace; all the unique gifts that He placed in us. Through our chips and oddities, others who are searching for Him, who may have lost their way, or are traveling in the dark, will see His Light seeping out through our chinks and nooks as a beacon of hope and rest. Opportunities to allow Him to speak through us and offer compassion, acceptance, and peace to a weary fellow traveler. May others do this for us when we find ourselves lost and in need of Light and Hope. The beauty of a broken vessel.

Corinthians 4:7 NLT “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”

Sing

As I sat with this verse and my comforting hot coffee this morning, I could hear the daily choir of birds in my backyard garden singing their little hearts out.

I have many different birds that love my garden. They all have beautiful songs that are unique to them. If you listen carefully you know exactly which bird is singing what notes and even though they are quite different, they all blend into something lovely, happy, and joyful.

It made me smile to picture God on His throne listening to the songs of His creation. He knows exactly what bird is singing and where. I imagine it is beautiful to Him. He carefully crafted each creation-song to blend perfectly, in the exact way He wanted it.

I believe He created our voices to perfectly and uniquely fit our physical features and personality quirks. When we sing to Him or hum as we go about our daily routine, our voices blend and swirl together into such perfect and flawless harmony to His ears.

Creation using the sounds we were given to praise, thank, and love the One who gave us life. Jehovah Jireh.

It is right and good to sing to Him because He is good.

Mindful of You

Even in the vastness of the heavens, the intricate placement of each galaxy, the planets, and stars God sees you. You are never lost to Him in the enormity of creation. Your name is written on the palm of His hand – cherished, loved, and perfectly known. Every sigh, every tear, every mask you wear, and every thought you have is completely and fully known.

It amazes me. It always does. Such love and depth of being seen is scary, but so comforting at the same time. So hopeful.

Nothing separates you from Him. Be at peace. He is near and loves you with a fierceness that is beyond what the human mind can conceive. Safety. Rest.

It’s sacred and beautiful – this love is for you.
